Kouzina Showroom Christchurch

Located in Christchurch, the Kouzina Showroom is a premium destination for showcasing high-end kitchen appliances. For this project, Living Design was tasked with creating a standout display kitchen that highlights the exceptional range of BORA cooktops. The kitchen had to be eye-catching, yet versatile enough to complement the commercial showroom environment.

To create a visually compelling display, Living Design used a combination of materials and textures. The island and cabinetry fronts were finished in Furniture Linoleum, which contrasts elegantly with the walnut veneer used on the oven cabinetry. The versatility of linoleum allows for smooth, uninterrupted surfaces on the island, creating a modern, minimalist aesthetic.

The display kitchen also features imi-Concrete on the backwall, splashback and floating shelf, along with silverTouch® stainless steel for the island top, adding to the industrial-chic feel of the space. The incorporation of these diverse materials was intentional, showcasing how different textures can work together to create a cohesive, sophisticated design.

One of the goals of the Kouzina kitchen display was to demonstrate the versatility of Furniture Linoleum as a material for kitchen cabinetry. Linoleum is typically seen in more traditional applications, but its flexibility allows it to be applied in more innovative settings, like a kitchen, where it enhances the sleek, modern look of the space.

Forbo’s Furniture Linoleum with its matte finish is naturally resistant to fingerprints, stains, and scratches, making it ideal for surfaces that endure daily use such as kitchens. Its anti-static properties also ensure that dust and debris do not accumulate on the cabinetry, keeping the kitchen looking clean and polished.

Made from renewable raw materials, the linoleum not only offers a unique tactile experience, with its warm, natural softness, but also aligns with eco-conscious values—something increasingly important to modern homeowners and commercial clients alike.
