Perched on the waterfront in Northland, The Anchorage Retirement Village offers residents a lifestyle defined by comfort, connection, and the beauty of its natural surroundings. When it came to flooring, the goal was to select products that could quietly work in the background, supporting daily life while enhancing the calm, refined atmosphere.

Interface’s Works+ Effect and Works+ Sense in Shell set the tone with their subtle texture and soft, neutral base, creating a foundation that is both practical and timeless. You’re So Vein in Maize/Silver brings in delicate veining and a gentle interplay of colour, echoing natural stone and adding quiet sophistication. The Net Effect collection in Caspian (B601, B602, B603) introduces organic, water-inspired patterns, tying the interiors back to the coastal setting while offering the durability needed for high-use spaces. Digitized Tuft in Urban and Shaded Pigment in Urban Ground add modern, understated layers of pattern and depth, ensuring the design feels fresh without overpowering the serene environment.

Beneath their aesthetic appeal, these products are built for performance. Interface’s modular carpet tiles are designed to withstand the demands of daily foot traffic, with the flexibility to replace individual tiles if needed, minimising disruption and waste. Cushion backing helps reduce noise and provides comfort underfoot, an important consideration for senior living.

The designers at Spaceworks aimed to create interiors that connected with the landscape, using natural materials and flowing forms to evoke the surrounding waterfront, and the result delivers exactly that. The flooring works seamlessly with this vision, blending aesthetic harmony with the durability and functionality needed to support residents every day.
