This South Island School’s flooring design exemplifies vibrant, purposeful design through the use of Forbo’s Sphera Energetic Collection, supplied by Inzide. Designed by the talented team at Athfield Architects and expertly installed by Dominion Carpet Co, the project utilised over 400 lineal meters of Sphera Energetic homogeneous vinyl, transforming the school’s educational spaces into dynamic, visually engaging environments.

The confetti-style vinyl flooring spans the interior of the classrooms with its characteristic lively colour palette and bold confetti pattern, offers the perfect balance of energy and resilience for the high-traffic areas within the school. Custom-cut colour-blocked insets, pulled from the confetti colour palette, were seamlessly integrated into the flooring layout, creating zones that delineate different functional areas. These zones aid in wayfinding and space organization, guiding students and staff through the classroom with ease while injecting bursts of colour and personality into the interior. This creative use of colour in the flooring demonstrates the thoughtful zoning of a well-designed practical learning space, keeping health and safety in mind while also injecting a playful nature into the space.
