Fire
Floors
The New Zealand Building Code, Clauses C1-C6 require a minimum critical radiant flux (CRF) when tested to ISO 9239-1:2010 of between 1.2 and 4.5 kW/m² and above, depending on the area within the building and the building’s Risk Group. The fire test ISO 9239:1 2010 is only for floor coverings, not wall coverings. Some tests note a CHF which stands for Critical Heat Flux and is and interchangeable term with CRF.
Floor surface materials in the following areas of buildings must meet the performance criteria specified below:
