Dressed Lines Product Launch Event

Last week we celebrated the launch of the newest collection by David Oakey from Interface, Dressed Lines, at the Interior Award-winning speakeasy, Quinn Bar in Auckland. The evening brought together designers, specifiers, and industry friends in a vibrant setting, with Maryam Rezazadeh and Elizabeth Distefano joining us from Interface’s Australian team to share insights into the inspiration and story behind the range.
The collection draws inspiration from the elegance of mid-century modern design. As David Oakey has shared, Dressed Lines reflects a time when design shifted away from ornate tradition toward simplicity, texture, and bold experimentation, inspired by icons such as Florence Knoll, Anni Albers, and Charles and Ray Eames. He describes the patterns as “sophisticated, small scale, and high contrast… like dress fabric, versatile, ranging from subtle tailored looks to bold black-and-white accents.”
The collection spans six styles and eight colourways, all designed to be mixed and matched across open spaces, feature zones, or statement moments. From understated foundations like Goes Around to bold highlights such as Accent Hour – David’s personal favourite, Dressed Lines offers designers the freedom to create timeless interiors.
The launch evening captured the essence of the collection, classic yet contemporary, with conversation centring on how these versatile patterns can elevate a wide range of projects.
Thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate with us, it was a wonderful way to introduce Dressed Lines to New Zealand.
