Rose from Carmel College is a talented rower with huge potential. Unfortunately she is the only senior rower at Carmel and whereas most schools have teams of 50 or so rowers she was alone. With support from InterfaceNZ and lots of help from Westlake Girls College who supplied the boat and logistics Rose was able to get down to Twizel to compete in the MAADI NZ secondary School Rowing championships.
She breezed through her heats and semi-final making it into the A Final for the Girls Under 18 Single Sculls. In itself a huge achievement given her change to single rowing in January 2010. She is now ranked 6th in New Zealand and we look forward to seeing more of Rose in the future. InterfaceNZ was delighted to be able to sponsor Rose to compete in this event.
