Titi Tiri Matangi Scrub Cutting Christmas Party

InterfaceNZ has always practiced what it preaches around sustainability. If you don’t walk the talk, people see through you pretty quickly.

An example of our walking the talk was our Christmas party for 2008. Working directly with the Department of Conversation rangers based on Tiri Tiri Matangi Island (A bird sanctuary in the Hauraki Gulf). We set forth with 23 employees and family to cut back flax that was growing over walkways. The weather was fantastic and the bird song simply awesome. An inquisitive Takahe also added delight to the day.

The photos show the team hard at work. We finished with an afternoon of fun in the surf and a bit of a beach clean up. Given the variety of Marine life in the Hauraki Gulf it is a real shame just how much rubbish our fellow kiwis throw away from their boats.

Thanks to Dave, our intrepid DOC Ranger for all his help and making the day fun for all.

From all accounts, Motuihe Island will be our destination next year as they continue turning this island into another Tiri Tiri. Give us a call, we’d be happy to add your name to the day.
