Arthouse’s remit was to beautify the library using elegance and sophistication yet not exceeding a tight capital budget. Colour was to be kept neutral with the focus being maintained on the books and now comport screens.
Concurrently simple way finding needed to be evident and maintenance had to be kept very simple. Being a public space spills needed to be able to be dealt with quickly without having areas roped off or made out of bounds until the cleaners came in that night.
