IAG’s commitment to sustainability was a key factor in the design of their offices in Christchurch. As a result, the increased facility management benefits of the Modern Range (random design) that promotes a longer life-cycle while saving significant maintenance costs was specified.
Random tiles have less than 1% waste upon installation (vs Broadlooms standard 15%) and have no dyelots making tile replacement in the future simple without anyone knowing what has occurred.
The designers also incorporated an internal wall made from old carpet tile for an alternative end-of-life solution that also provides insulating properties and serves as a story about waste for employees and clients alike.
