SirTrack are a government team tasked with developing technology and capabilities to allow the tracking of animals (ie Kiwi, Kakapo etc). As such they have a wide brief and need to combine biology with technology and good, old fashioned kiwi know how.

The new facility is therefore made up of a number of functional areas with very different needs.

In Helen's words the design concept is:

"Functional and tailor-made for the unique work space which combines reception and front staff, engineering workshops, assembly plants and staff recreational facilities." A sustainable flooring solution within a budget was required that was sympathetic to the nature of the business. Timber, earthy colorings and definition of spaces needed to be manifested in the flooring design, turning open-plan offices into distinct work spaces. The design also needed to be meshed with existing areas.
